Selecting Gifts for your Bridal Party

Finding the perfect way to thank your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Your bridesmaids and groomsmen can be some of the most important people to have around on your wedding day. These are the dedicated friends and relatives who will stay by your side and become your last-minute problem solvers if anything goes wrong. They also help the bride and groom get ready and stay calm. Many couples, looking back on their wedding, realize that they can’t even picture it all without the bridal party there every step of the way.
Finding the right way to thank your bridal party is important and takes some thought and planning. Traditionally, the bridesmaids will all receive the same gift, and the maid of honor will receive an additional or different, nicer gift. The groomsmen also receive matching gifts and the best man receives a different or additional gift. However, you can also select unique and personal gifts for each individual member of your bridal party if you’d like. If you select many different gifts, make an effort to keep them all in the same price range with the exception of your best man and maid of honor.
Most bridal party gifts are monogrammed, engraved, or otherwise personalized. Personalization for these types of gifts is often free. If possible, you can incorporate your wedding colors and theme into the gifts or at least the wrapping. Don’t forget to include a personal note to each person.
For girls, one popular gift is jewelry. This can be matching jewelry that the bridesmaids will all wear on the wedding day. Many bracelets and necklaces come with a pendant where you can have each person’s initials engraved. Other ideas include personalized toiletry bag, mirrors, or business card holders. For a wonderfully personal touch, you can give picture frames and include a unique picture for each person of the two of your together.
For the men in your bridal party, consider monogrammed cufflinks, key chain, or grooming case. You can also look into personalized lighters and cigar flasks, clocks, or personalized deluxe cooler. Consider the tastes and styles of the groomsmen. You don’t want to give everyone personalized wine boxes if some of them don’t drink, or lighters to people who will never touch a cigar.
For your best man and maid of honor, select a very personal gift. Here especially, you should tap into the personal interests of the recipient. Men may enjoy a humidor, poker set, or golf accessories. Your maid of honor might like a nice set of jewelry, personalized tote bag, or jewelry box. Be creative and select a gift that will be meaningful.
Whatever you choose, remember that this gift is an important thank you to the special people who helped make your wedding a special and memorable day.
